Modeling biological material systems presents unique challenges
arising in part from complex multiscale organization. This mini-symposium
seeks to be a forum for discussing advances and issues in modeling
biomaterials from a phenomenological point of view. Contributions
are invited in modeling at all scales with an emphasis on theoretical
and mathematical issues. This symposium has two objectives:

To provide an educational forum for disseminating new developments
in theoretical modeling |

To identify important issues and common themes in mathematical
modeling of biomaterials |
The technical program includes paper presentations and a round table
discussion at the end of the session. Subjects to be covered include
tissue, cellular and sub-cellular mechanics.
