This event is a result of the joint effort of scientists and researchers from the United States and Brazil. It offers a platform for the researchers to share their knowledge and to explore areas of collaborative research in many aspects of advanced materials ranging from manufacturing to testing, from theoretical modelling to numerical simulations; covering micro-, nano- and bio-technology of materials, and including smart (active), composites, multifunctional, and functionally graded material systems. The event was supported by the National Science Foundation (USA) and several Brazilian funding agencies.
